FAQ

General Questions

  1. Can I create a fundraising page to raise more than the registration fee?
After you register for our event on www.allirelandcycle.ie you will receive confirmation with a link to a fundraising page.  This page is linked directly to our charity which means you won’t have to worry about handling the money yourself, and donations from your family and friends go straight to the charity - while you can keep an eye on the amount you are raising. You probably know how these fundraising sites work already, but the general idea is that you will share your link with your friends and family through email or social media, and invite them to support you by donating to the charity.
  2. Where do I cycle?
As this is not a group cycling event, you can cycle anywhere at any time that suits you.  Even indoors on a turbo!  Just make sure you are safe, that you can record how many kilometres you pedal for your County, and follow the steps in #8 below to log your activity to your account on our website.
  3. Can I use a stationary bike?
Yes. You can build up the kilometres by cycling outdoors on the roads or indoors on a stationary bike – just as long as you can track the kilometres that you are cycling!  Zwift is an example of a popular virtual cycling apps.
  4. What device can I use to record my distances?
You can use any device to track your activity including bike computers like Garmin, Wahoo and most smart phones.  Popular apps include Fitbit, Garmin, Strava, Map my Ride and Zwift (indoor).  Then follow the steps in #8 below to log your activity to your account on our website.
  5. Can I do more than 100km?
Of course! We expect club and elite cyclists to target 450km’s in 10 days.
  6. Do I have to cycle each day?
Not at all.  You don’t have to cycle each day, so you can pick and choose the days you wish to cycle.
